Summary:Mobility, even a simple one, cannot be achieved independently without sufficient knowledge of our environment, this becomes a challenge for visually impaired people as they require and rely on support to carry out their daily activity. Obstacle detection as well as obstacle warning can assist the mobility and also improve the safety of visually impaired people. This paper provides an assistive technology that enables the visually impaired user carry out their daily activity independently. The produced result shows the systems efficiency in providing a warning signal depending on the distance of the obstacle to the user
