Description
Summary:This paper introduces a novel design for a multibeam metasurface antenna (MTSA) capable of generating up to 11 simultaneous beams at millimetre-wave frequencies of 28 GHz using a single feeding port. The proposed structure is passive and does not contain phase shifters, making it simple to implement using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components and standard PCB technology. A smaller version of the design was fabricated, tested, and shown to generate up to 6 beams, demonstrating good agreement with simulation results. This metasurface antenna has potential applications in various fields, including satellite and 5G/6G communication systems, and can be integrated into various base stations and handheld transceivers.
