Description
Summary:In recent years, the digital transformation has brought a shift in paradigm in both the automobile industry and in the shipping industry. Therefore, the significance of Maritime 4.0 continues to grow, as the industry must cope with changes in the freight structure shifting towards smaller-sized loads and shortage of nautical personnel. Furthermore, the demand for more efficient vessel operations is increasing as the fleet emissions must be reduced and the fuel costs increase simultaneously. Within the joint project "Remote-controlled, coordinated driving in inland shipping - FernBin", the remote-control of inland vessels is investigated. This contribution addresses the requirement to make alerts from the controlled vessel accessible to the distant operator. Furthermore, it proposes a general concept of integrating an alert management for remote-control operations.
