Description
Summary:A strip-loaded slot waveguide is used for collecting, confining, and guiding the emission of a microdisk laser with InAs/InGaAs/GaAs quantum dot (QD) active region operating in continuous wave mode under optical pumping. An analytical model was developed to determine the vertical coupling conditions between the microdisk laser and strip-loaded slot waveguide using the model of 5-layers horizontal planar structure. The scanning near-field optical microscope measurements performed on the 10-micron in diameter microdisk covered by a TiO 2 /SiO 2 /TiO 2 strip-loaded slot waveguide confirmed the mode coupling into and guiding along the loading strip.
