Summary: | Road traffic pressure and congestion become more serious as the number of vehicles increases in most big cities. Fast automatic route guidance method is needed urgently to improve this traffic problem. In this paper, a ARG-VANET (Automatic Route Guidance method using Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks) is proposed to guide vehicles to run on lighter traffic roads. With this method, the intelligent collaboration between vehicles can make the road traffic flow more fluently and road network more effectively. The simulation results show that by using the ARG-VANET, vehicles can get almost 10% higher average speed, reduce 5% delay and the number of stops than DITS+ACO (Dynamic travel path optimization system using ant colony optimization). |
