On the Location of Transverse Electric Surface Wave Poles for Electrically Thick Substrates

In this paper, the transverse electric (TE) surface wave (SW) poles for a grounded single dielectric layer are determined using Mittag-Leffler (ML) expansion method. The poles located using ML expansion method are then compared against existing methods in terms of convergence to final root. This pap...

Description
Summary:In this paper, the transverse electric (TE) surface wave (SW) poles for a grounded single dielectric layer are determined using Mittag-Leffler (ML) expansion method. The poles located using ML expansion method are then compared against existing methods in terms of convergence to final root. This paper shows the effectiveness of ML expansion method by locating SW poles for lossless and lossy dielectric substrates. This method also possess the capability of obtaining more than one SW pole for electrically thick substrates.
