Description
Summary:A compact planner printed monopole antenna having a geometry of 44 × 42 mm2 is presented. This antenna is composed of a modified shaped patch with a partial slot ground plane and a height of 1.6 mm2 that shields the low-cost substrate material FR-4 with a relative permittivity of 4.6 and loss tangent of 0.02 that makes it suitable for UWB operations. 50Ω microstrip transmission line used as feed current and observe the simulated results in HFSS and CST simulator. With a decent impedance match and constant radiation pattern the presented antenna has comprehensive bandwidth of 8.2 GHz (2.5 GHz to 11.2 GHz) which makes the antenna appropriate for various ultra-wideband applications.
