Summary: | An estimation model for the rugged-terrain directsolar radiation (DSR) is derived basing on the mechanism responsible for the DSR on hillside. With the fine-scale topographic data and the radiation observation, this model can provide the detailed distribution of monthly DSR over the complex terrain of Chongqing city. Such fine-scale data are conducive to the utilization of solar radiation. The results also suggest that the terrain's influence on DSR is evident especially during the winter season. And the slope ratio and its facing orientation are the two major factors determining the DSR locally. |
