Description
Summary:This paper presents the design and analysis of a microstrip patch antenna with a Defected Ground Structure operating at 13.2 GHz. The antenna features dimensions of 80 mm in length, 80 mm in width and 0.32 cm in height, adapted to achieve a gain of 5 dB within a dual band frequency range. Developing a ground structure allows for increased power and efficient signal transmission in the specified frequency band. The design methodology, simulation and performance evaluation of the proposed antenna is carried out using HFSS tool. This antenna is potential for various communication and radars as well as satellite applications for Ku band such as fixed satellite service and broadband satellite service requiring specific frequency bandwidths.
