Description
Summary:One of the important application of load flow solution is computing the power loss and voltage regulation of the system. This paper studies the effect of distributed generations (DG) and voltage regulators (VR) on voltage profile and efficiency of a radial system. In order to obtain the load flow solution of the radial system, a quadratic equation based backward forward sweep technique have been employed in this paper. A method have been proposed in this paper for handling multiple PV buses in the backward forward sweep algorithm. The proposed algorithm is tested on a 31-bus radial distribution system. The results of the test are presented in this paper for four different cases namely: with absence of both DG and VR, with only DG and VR individually and with both DG and VR combined.
