Summary: | This paper presents one way of presenting traditional methods for digital image processing of microorganisms as a laboratory exercise for students. These methods include median and Gaussian filter noise removal, image thresholding, edge detection, and morphological operations. The lab exercise is designed for the students in the Faculty of Telecommunications, they are learning the fundamentals of digital image processing. It will also be useful for students whose major field is microbiology, they can use this paper for further analysis in their research in the part of image analysis of bacteria. |
