Summary:The authors have developed a method for determining the minimum capacity of traction batteries of electric buses with ultrafast charging for operation on regular routes. The calculation is based on a cluster analysis of the general set of regular routes of an operational enterprise, as well as an artificial intelligence tool (decision tree) developed and trained by the authors to predict battery power consumption. The article presents the results of testing the developed methodology for determining the minimum capacity of traction batteries of electric buses for operation on the route network. The results obtained can be useful not only for operational enterprises, but also for manufacturers of electric buses with ultrafast charging to optimize their design in terms of completing batteries of the required capacity for various customers.
