Summary:This work presents a resonant converter Two Switch 4:1 based on the Storageless Step-Down Four-Switch topology and it is feasible to high-efficiency battery charging stage on electric vehicles. The proposed converter is modulated at variable frequency (MFV) and has low switching losses due to the soft-switching characteristics of ZCS. As result, one can operate with higher frequencies, reducing the size of the magnetic ones, and consequently, reducing its weight and volume. Due to its compact feature it is attractive for electric vehicles. An in-depth theoretical study of the converter is presented, supported by partial experimental results through a prototype of 200W, input voltage of 48V and output voltage of 12V.
