Description
Summary:This paper proposes an assessment of three power estimation methods under adverse microgrid scenarios, such as the presence of harmonics, load and source unbalance, frequency deviation and DC components. The evaluation is based on transient and steady-state performance parameters. The power estimator approaches evaluated are the p-q theory, Fourier Transform and Wavelet transform. The versions of each method are implemented based on microgrid applications, operating scenarios and accordance with IEEE Standard 1459-2010. This evaluation aims to point out a possible method to be used in DG control systems in microgrids that is more suitable for adverse operating scenarios. Experimental results are presented to validate the comparison.
