Description
Summary:Technology is essential and effective in several areas of our daily lives. One of these crucial areas is using the internet of things (IoT) technology in agriculture. Smart agricultural greenhouse solutions are one of the most essential applied solutions in agriculture, which can control and adjust the temperature via sensors. This paper proposes a smart greenhouse (SGH) based on IoT controllers, sensors, and components for strawberry cultivation. The soil moisture sensor has been used to measure soil moisture content and compares it to the ideal soil moisture value saved in the Arduino. If the humidity is less than the ideal values, the 5V pump will operate to bring the humidity level back to an acceptable level. The humidity sensor has been used to control temperature and humidity values, the lamp for heating, and the fan for cooling. The results of strawberry cultivation were compared between those grown traditionally and those grown using the proposed prototype. The results were encouraging, with an average number of leaves reaching (29,625), the plant height reaching (20,625), the average number of flowers reaching (51,975) and the average number of fruits reaching (45,125). This proposed prototype can be realistically applied in the strawberry greenhouse and thus contribute to reducing the use of resources and increasing productivity.
