Description
Summary:Signals currently used in sonars, namely, chirp signals, have several drawbacks in practical applications, such as strong attenuation over long distances and high influence of crosstalk. In this paper, we propose novel signal types, namely, multi-harmonic and chaotic signals. A comparative analysis of their application effect is performed in case of a limited-band sonar. It is shown that the characteristics of the sonar can be improved using these novel types of signals.
