Summary:In this paper miniaturized Quad Band Monopole Microstrip Antenna for Deep Space Communication Applications is presented. The antenna has the dimensions of 30X36.7 mm 2 .The antenna is fed by microstrip transmission line. The VSWR is close to ideal value (i.e. unity) due to perfect impedance (Ω) matching of 50Ω for each band and minimum reflection coefficient in the range -40dB to -60dB for each desired band are obtained. Particular desired band is achieved with step by step combination of particular cut slot at the center of patch, feed line and defective ground. Proposed antenna gets better required bandwidth for radar and satellite communication. The proposed antenna works effectively in 8-12 GHz X-band, 12-18 GHz Ku-band and 18-26 GHz K-band which comes under the satellite communications and radar applications.
