Numerical simulation of a spark channel expansion in water and its comparison with an experimental result

The post-breakdown expansion of underwater sparks is studied experimentally using a high-speed camera and an optical hydrophone. These experimental results are compared with solutions of two mathematical equations for incompressible liquids. A detailed comparison between these numerical simulations...

Description
Summary:The post-breakdown expansion of underwater sparks is studied experimentally using a high-speed camera and an optical hydrophone. These experimental results are compared with solutions of two mathematical equations for incompressible liquids. A detailed comparison between these numerical simulations and the experimental results shows the incompressible approach provides reasonable agreement with the experimental results.
