Description
Summary:Thyristor controlled phase shifting transformer (TCPST) plays a very important role in controlling line power flow and improving system stability. However, how to choose the appropriate parameter when the TCPST is put into the power system has become a challenge. In this paper, a new design method of TCPST operation parameter considering steady and dynamic characteristics is proposed. Firstly, the phase-shifting principle and function of the TCPST is introduced. Then, the parameter optimization model of TCPST is put forward by considering the steady-state and dynamic indexes in the objective function. After that, in order to solve this model, the co-simulation of PSCAD and MATLAB based on particle swarm optimization algorithm is used. Finally, the example results show that using the proposed design method can balance the steady state performance and the small signal stability.
