Description
Summary:The sensitivity in the accuracy in received signal amplitude was analysed for various time delays and Doppler shifts. Different models of the Rayleigh fading mobile channel were compared in this aspect. It was shown that the result depends heavily on which channel model was used. The models used were the traditional Jakes' (1974) model, a Gaussian Markov model and empirical models based on measurements. The often used Jakes' model gave a more optimistic view on the sensitivity to long time delays in the power control system. The other models were almost equally sensitive to long time delays.
