Summary: | This paper gives a preliminary investigation on emergent properties analysis in a systems engineering framework. the contribution is twofold, the first is to give a formal model of requirements in EIA-632 standards and then propose an approach for emergent properties analysis. The formal model is built upon existing best practice in systems engineering by mapping Pre-Post conditions for each requirement mainly the technical requirements. The emergent property as safety issues, as assumption in the model as an identified property that can be generated either through the process or through non reliable component. The process can be either a transformation (machining) or a composition (assembly). |
