Description
Summary:Human fertility has been a subject of intensive study by scholars from a variety of academic disciplines. In recent years, economists have been studying human fertility within an economic decision-making. framework. A key relationship that is frequently mentioned in the literature is the one between income and fertility. Some studies find the relationship to be positive, while others contend that it is inverse. Analytical models based on economic theory have not provided an unequivocal answer to this apparent puzzle. Results from empirical works have also been largely inconclusive.
