Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to determine, using data from the literature and field research, which factors were influencing the perception of 33 female adolescents in relation to the sport of swimming in practitioners. The main question was put: why daily "thousands" of adolescents initiate or abandon the practice of swimming? Methods: Field Research in loco. Use of open-ended questionnaire items with self-perception, self-esteem and self-respect (Safons, 2000). It was observed that the factors that determine these attitudes vary by age almost. Generally, the main reasons given by teenagers to start and persist in sports were fun, physical wellness, club competition and new friendships. Already the main factors for the alleged abandonment of the practice were: lack of competition with other clubs, overemphasis on winning and excess pressures from parents and coaches.
