Summary: | An 11-year-old female patient sought the Stomatology service complaining of swelling in the oral cavity. On extraoral physical examination, an increase in volume in the right hemiface was observed. There was an exophytic lesion in the mouth with irregular edges in the right mandible, causing tooth displacement. Magnetic resonance showed an expansive formation in the mandibular body with lytic characteristics, infiltrating the muscles of the base of the tongue and masseter. Incisional biopsy was performed and histological sections stained in HE revealed a poorly differentiated neoplasm of small, round cells. Immunohistochemical analysis showed positivity for CD99 and negativity for CD45, MYOG, synaptophysin and cytokeratin AE1/AE3, resulting in a diagnosis of Ewing´s Sarcoma. The patient underwent pelveglossomandibulectomy and reconstruction with a titanium plate, followed by chemotherapy consisting of Vincristine, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, etoposide, and ifosfamide. The patient remains under follow-up with no signs of tumor recurrence. |
