Description
Summary:Coke battery 1, with furnace chambers of width 480 mm and useful volume 35.5 m 3 has been put into operation, with subsequent adjustment of the heating conditions and discharge force. After reaching the design coking period of 19 h, the regulators are readjusted, and a uniform temperature distribution is obtained over the length and height of the heating walls. The properties of the coke from coke battery no. 1 are investigated. The quality of coke from furnaces with different chamber width and coking periods is compared. Overall, the strength of blast-furnace coke from batteries 1 and 3–4 complies with the relevant technical specifications.
