Fiber Bragg grating Fabry-Perot interferometer for a precise measurement of the UV-induced index change

A measurement technique based on using a Bragg-grating Fabry-Perot interferometer is presented to determine UV-induced index changes in silica fibers. This method yields in contrast to the standard Bragg-wavelength shift technique accurate and unambiguous results.
