ArtinM, a d -mannose-binding lectin from Artocarpus integrifolia , plays a potent adjuvant and immunostimulatory role in immunization against Neospora caninum

Highlights ► We evaluate the adjuvant effect of ArtinM and Jacalin in vaccination for neosporosis. ► Mice were immunized with Neospora antigen (NLA) associated or not with lectins. ► ArtinM increased NLA immunogenicity, IgG2a/IgG1 ratio, Th1 cytokine production. ► After challenge, ArtinM increased s...

Description
Summary:Highlights ► We evaluate the adjuvant effect of ArtinM and Jacalin in vaccination for neosporosis. ► Mice were immunized with Neospora antigen (NLA) associated or not with lectins. ► ArtinM increased NLA immunogenicity, IgG2a/IgG1 ratio, Th1 cytokine production. ► After challenge, ArtinM increased survival and decreased brain parasite burden. ► ArtinM showed stronger adjuvant effect than Jacalin in neosporosis vaccination.
