Highlights • Hyporesponsiveness was inconsistent for opsonic activity after secondary vaccination. • IgG required for 50% killing decreased 1 month after primary vaccination. • IgG required for 50% killing remained low 1 month after secondary vaccination. • Self-limited adverse reactions were more frequent after secondary vaccination.
