Description
Summary:To the Editor, Trauma resulting from motor vehicle crashes is the leading cause of nonobstetric maternal mortality in the United States and a major cause for maternal morbidity and neonatal morbidity and mortality [1-4]. Despite educational efforts on proper use of seatbelt restraints during pregnancy in a state where a primary seatbelt law is in existence, 6% of pregnant women reported not wearing a seatbelt to the clinic on the day of their visit.
