Summary:The authors present a description of PAR Village, a demonstration project designed to examine the question of whether mothers in residential treatment accompanied by their children have better outcomes than those who enter treatment without their children. Issues related to the treatment of women in substance abuse programs are discussed as an introduction to the structure and purposes of the program.
