FKBP5 polymorphisms, childhood abuse, and PTSD symptoms: Results from the National Health and Resilience in Veterans Study

Highlights • Four FKBP5 SNPs were associated with PTSD symptom severity in military veterans. • FKBP5 SNPs interacted with childhood abuse to predict PTSD symptoms. • FKBP5 may be most strongly implicated in expression of PTSD hyperarousal symptoms.
