Description
Summary:Abstract Scrotal hematoma may be seen as a sign of intraperitoneal or retroperitoneal hemorrhage. Scrotal hematoma due to adrenal hemorrhage has been defined; however, subcapsular liver hematoma (SLH) as a cause of scrotal hematoma has only been reported in one full-term newborn infant in the medical literature. Herein we report a preterm infant with SLH presenting as scrotal hematoma. The diagnosis was made based on ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. As clinical deterioration was not observed in the patient, surgical intervention was not performed and the infant was discharged without complications on day 28 of life.
