Summary: | The properties of ceramic oxide coatings on magnesium and titanium alloys are examined with electrolytic plasma oxidation. The oxide ceramics protect the alloys against corrosive environments. It is found that the ceramic oxide coatings increase the wear resistance of the alloys by 10–15 times and their corrosion resistance by one or two orders of magnitude compared to the starting metal. |
