Summary: | In the title compound, C(19)H(13)N(5)·C(4)H(8)O(2)·2H(2)O, the mol-ecular skeleton of the 2,6-bis-(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine (bbip) mol-ecule is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.023 Å). An extensive three-dimensional network of inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds consolidates the crystal packing, which also exhibits π-π inter-actions between the five- and six-membered rings from neighbouring bbip mol-ecules. |
