Description
Summary:► Regression analysis for Ni-base superalloys to predict initial oxidation behavior. ► Empirical equations applicable to all generations of Ni-base superalloys. ► Excellent agreement between observed and calculated weight changes. ► The alloys that were applicable for this equation had a compositional dependence. Regression analysis was performed for 63 binary, ternary and multi-component Ni-base superalloys to predict initial oxidation behavior. Empirical equations obtained from regression analysis, and used for predicting the weight change of alloys after one cycle at 1100 °C, could be applied to all generations of Ni-base superalloys. One equation exhibited excellent agreement between observed and calculated weight changes. The alloys that were applicable for this equation therefore had a compositional dependence.
