Description
Summary:Discusses the implications of the terrorist attacks of September 11 (2001) for risk analysis & study of hazard generation. Considering the "exponential" mode of thinking is appropriate for the study of terrorism, as is "vulnerability analysis." Such attention to vulnerability should account for the findings drawn from risk perception scholarship that has striven to assess the effects of accidents & other catastrophic occurrences. Understanding the "social amplification of risk" must be purposefully integrated into risk analysis & decision making. 11 References. K. Coddon
