Summary:Mucormycosis is a fungal infection caused by a rare pathogen most commonly affecting immunocompromised hosts. Successful treatment of pulmonary mucormycosis requires rapid diagnosis, reversal of predisposing factors, aggressive surgical excision, and antifungal therapy. We present a case of pulmonary mucormycosis affecting a young neutropenic male requiring a pneumonectomy.
