The following quality standards have been developed by the Quality Standards Subcommittee of the Clinical Affairs Committee of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). The goal is to make available to infectious disease specialists and other physicians clear, logical, discrete standards that can be applied without controversy in most hospital settings to the review of the care of patients with certain infectious disease problems.
