Summary:Abstract Androgen deprivation therapy is widely used in a number of different settings in the treatment of prostate cancer. This overview will look at the current evidence for the potential development of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease as a consequence of this therapy, and highlight strategies aimed at their prevention. The relationship between metabolic syndrome and prostate cancer development will also be examined.
