Summary: | Conventional furnace sintering of porous materials made of 1Kh18N9T corrosion-resistant steel fibers leads to abnormal grain growth resulting in a bamboo-like structure, significantly affecting the mechanical properties of these materials. Spark plasma sintering has been employed to make porous samples of 1Kh18N9T corrosion-resistant steel fibers. The yield stress of these samples is 1.5 times higher than that of the samples produced by furnace sintering for 2 h at 1200°C. |
