Description
Summary:Ultrasound (US) of cervical tuberculous adenitis (CTA) was demonstrated to produce a characteristic pattern of the affected nodes in the majority of the patients in this study. The contribution of US to the diagnosis and assessment of CTA is evaluated. It is concluded that, since the other diagnostic tests for CTA are not reliable and/or time-consuming, the demonstration of nodal calcifications, conglomerate nodal masses and spread into the subcutaneous tissues at US in patients with elusive cervical masses may result in earlier recognition of CTA.
