Thermodynamics of unconventional thermoelastic damping in auxetic media

The paper deals with the extended thermodynamical model of thermoelastic interactions in nonlinear elastic solids of anomalous mechanical properties (negative Poisson's ratio materials) including energy dissipation during the thermoelastic damping phenomenon. The model has been based, among oth...

Description
Summary:The paper deals with the extended thermodynamical model of thermoelastic interactions in nonlinear elastic solids of anomalous mechanical properties (negative Poisson's ratio materials) including energy dissipation during the thermoelastic damping phenomenon. The model has been based, among others, on Murnaghan's free energy. Numerical simulations show unconventional effects occurring in such materials.
