Summary:	An earlier preliminary study conducted at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa, showed a statistically significant seasonal pattern for mood disorder presentation. These findings provided the basis for further exploration of the phenomenon. The present study replicates the earlier one in an attempt to establish the pervasiveness of the noted impact of season on mood disorder presentation.
