Description
Summary:Liver cirrhosis mortality and morbidity (primary and secondary diagnosis) data for Western Australian men and women over the age of 30 years for the period 1971-82 are presented. Correlations between the morbidity and mortality data and adult consumption of beer, wine, spirits and absolute alcohol are also reported. Possible reasons for the various significant correlations are discussed, and in particular, with respect to the increasing wine consumption of adults (greater than or equal to 15 years).
