Description
Summary:Currently, semen to be "banked" by cryopreservation must have a minimum sperm concentration of 40 million/ml. and a minimum motility of 60 per cent. In analyzing semen of our patients with testicular cancer after unilateral orchiectomy but before further therapy, we have found that the semen of only 4 per cent (1/25) meets those minimum requirements. The results of this study suggest that cryopreservation may be an unrealistic solution to the infertility that may result from the treatment of testicular cancer.
