Description
Summary:A novel easily-prepared cationic cyclometallated Ir(III) complex is characterized by a good second-order NLO response, as determined in solution by the EFISH technique, and by interesting two-photon absorption activity, as measured by the Z-scan technique in the femtosecond case. It is a good candidate for application in photonics and biomedicine. [Display omitted] A novel cationic cyclometallated Ir(III) complex, namely [Ir(C^N-ppy-4-CHCHC6H4NEt2)2(N^N-bpy-CHCHC6H4NEt2)][PF6] (ppy = 2-phenylpyridine; bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), was prepared and well characterized. Its good second-order NLO response, as determined in solution by the EFISH technique, and its interesting two-photon absorption activity, as measured by the Z-scan technique in the femtosecond case, make it a good candidate for application in photonics and biomedicine.
