A case of anaerobic middle ear infection with complications

A case of anaerobic middle ear infection giving rise to an anaerobic bacteraemia and to a posterior fossa extradural abscess is described. The importance of anaerobic infections in E.N.T. practice is stressed and their treatment with metronidazole recommended.
