Summary: | A mathematical model for the simulation of a press section of a paper machine has been developed. This model includes thermal aspects of hot pressing and impulse drying. Other related problems concerning mechanical behaviour of the paper, filtration, thermal measurements and paper rewetting have been thoroughly studied. Trials for the model validation have been run and energy savings evaluated. |
