Geometry effects of plane microdamages on the material deformation behavior

Description
Summary:Using the energy-based method accounting for interaction of crack faces we have derived equations for the effective elastic characteristics of materials weakened by a system of elliptic cracks randomly distributed over the bulk of material. The effect of microcrack geometry on the effective elastic moduli of the damaged material is investigated.
