Description
Summary:This paper is devoted to the interaction between pulsed lasers and multi-layered spheres. Internal and scattered fields are described in a rigorous electromagnetic approach, when a 50 fs pulse illuminates a 80 μm diameter particle. Whispering gallery modes wave packets generation inside a core-mantled sphere and effects of a refractive index gradient on scattered fields are in particular exhibited.
